After my grandfather had a fall at home, no one knew what had happened for almost two days.

As a family, that was incredibly difficult. It made me realise how easily someone living independently can need help without their family knowing.

I kept thinking there had to be a simple way to give families reassurance without taking away someone’s independence. As a young engineer, I started building one.

What began as a medication reminder became MedClock: a simple device that lets someone check in, acknowledge a reminder or ask their family for assistance with one large button.
